To all the boys I’ve loved before, by
Jenny Han is about a teenager named Lara-Jean Covey who has never openly spoken
of her crushes, but instead writes letters to each boy expressing her feelings
towards each of them. Lara-Jean’s letters are stored in a hat box under her bed
never to be seen by anyone but herself, but when the letters are mysteriously
sent, she faces her worst fear of finally having to confront all of the boys
about the letters.
I really enjoyed this book because I
think gives a lot of detail and description of the characters and their
problems. In addition I also feel that the author did I very good job portraying
the covey family because she addressed many problems that numerous families experience.
I also think that the issues of facing your fears and keeping secrets are very
relatable for kids my age. However I also feel that this story was slightly
over dramatized and in some areas lacked practicality. Nevertheless, I think
that the overall book was well written and kept me wanting more.
